Connecting piece for a frame of a bicycle, comprising a main tube component 10 which is made from a carbon-fibre composite material and has a longitudinal holding section 11 and two sleeve parts 13, 14 which project sideways from the holding section 11 and are adapted in such a manner that they can be pushed securely onto the top tube and the bottom tube, respectively, of the frame of a bicycle, and a metal reinforcement unit which fits into the holding section 11 of the main tube component 10. The main tube component 10 has a first retaining section 12 at a top end of the holding section 11 and a second retaining section 12' at a bottom end of the holding section 11.
