<p>An apparatus (12) for infeeding batched material to an inlet opening (32) of a material processing apparatus (10) includes a lift mechanism (34) alongside the material processing apparatus (10) to lift the batched material to the inlet opening (32) of the material processing apparatus (10), a delivery conveyor (36) to deliver the batched material to the lift mechanism (34), a transfer enclosure having a side entrance (58) for receiving batched material from the lift mechanism (34) and a bottom exit (60) for subsequent discharge of the batched material into the material processing apparatus (10), a tilt assembly (40) operable to either block or complete a path for transfer of the batched material from the lift mechanism (34) to the transfer enclosure (38), a transfer mechanism (42) operable to transfer the batched material from the lift mechanism (34), over the tilt assembly (40), and into the transfer enclosure (38), and a closure mechanism (44) operable to transfer the batched material from the transfer enclosure (38) into the material processing apparatus (10) via its inlet opening (32).</p> |
