<p>A turbine blade (102) having a preestablished rate of thermal expansion is attached to a turbine wheel (90) having a preestablished rate of thermal expansion being greater than the preestabished rate of thermal expansion of the turbine blade (102). The turbine wheel (90) includes a pair of side walls (82) having a groove (80) formed therebetween and a pair of axially aligned holes (92) radially positioned therein. The turbine blade (102) has a root portion (104) having a bore (116) positioned therein. A pin (130) having a preestablished rate of thermal expansion being substantially equal to the rate of thermal expansion of the blade (102) is positioned within the axially aligned holes (92) and the bore (116) attaches the blade (102) to the turbine wheel (90).</p> |
