Mounting automobile side window pane

In a process for mounting an automobile side window (12) in a window guide rail (14), a precisely measured amount of adhesive is applied between the vertical webs (16) of the U-shaped top of the guide rail (14), the window pane (12) is pressed into the adhesive and the adhesive is hardened. Pref. the adhesive is a silicone adhesive. Also claimed are (i) a similar process in which the guide rail has an L-shaped top; and (ii) automobile side windows (10) produced by the above processes.
