EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION BETWEEN INTERCONNECTED VOICEMAIL SYSTEMS

A voicemail message processing system (10) sends a voicemail message to a remote recipient on a remote voicemail system (14). In response, the remote voicemail system sends an acknowledge message containing information on the remote voicemail user. This information is stored for later use in addressing messages to the remote user, such as providing voice confirmations and address by name capabilities.
