The invention concerns a procedure for fabricating a constructional unit of a pressure transmitting diaphragm which has a flat, concentrically corrugated diaphragm and a metallic base body (4). Designed in the base body (4) is a flat cutout whose bottom forms a concentrically corrugated diaphragm bed (30). To fabricate this constructional unit, a flat, still uncorrugated diaphragm blank (40) is pressed against a joining surface surrounding the cutout, solder being arranged between the joining surface and the diaphragm blank. This arrangement is heated to a temperature above the melting point of the solder and is then cooled once more, so that the solder, which has then solidified, connects the joining surface and a marginal portion (14) of the diaphragm blank firmly to each other. After this, the central portion (46), lying opposite the membrane bed (30), of the diaphragm blank is moved into the cutout until in flush contact on the diaphragm bed (30), the central portion being elastically and plastically deformed and, on the basis of its plastic deformation, permanently assuming a corrugation which is complementary to the corrugation of the diaphragm bed.
