<p>Gamma-isocyanatopropylsilanes of formula:- OCN-(CH2)3-Si(CH3)n(X)3-n (where X is halogen and n is 0, 1 or 2) are prepd. by reaction of allyl isocyanate with a compd. of formula HSi(CH3)n(X)3-n in presence of a catalyst (esp. a platinum catalyst. Uses are as coupling agents for glass fibres; prepn. of polyurethanes; and prepn. of gamma-aminopropylsiloxanes.</p> |
