A paper cassette (2) comprises a main frame (15) open on an upper side thereof and an auxiliary frame (17) mounted to the main frame so that the main frame may be slid forwardly and rearwardly in the auxiliary frame in accordance with a desired longitudinal size of sheets of paper to be stored in the paper cassette. The main frame (15) has a base (15a), a front side and two lateral sides (15b). The auxiliary frame (17) has a base (17a), a back side (17c) and two lateral sides (17b). The main and auxiliary frames fit together to form an adjustable, substantially rectangular, open-topped box. The cassette also comprises position adjusting means (19, 20, 21, 22, 31, 34) for fixing the main and auxiliary frames relative to one another at one of a plurality of positions each corresponding to a different paper size. <IMAGE> |
