Method of manufacturing composite parts, in which: - short reinforcing fibres (3) are placed in a transfer mould (4); - the short reinforcing fibres (3) are impregnated with a low-viscosity resin; - the short reinforcing fibres impregnated with the resin are held in this mould (4), at a temperature called the gelling temperature, until obtaining a pasty preform (6) whose viscosity is suitable for compression moulding; - the pasty preform (6) is demoulded; - the said pasty preform (6) is placed in a compression mould (7) heated to a compression temperature greater than the gelling temperature; - the compression moulding of the pasty preform (6) is carried out; - the pasty preform (6) is polymerized at at least one temperature greater than or equal to the said compression temperature.
