PURPOSE:To obtain a useful insecticide composition, suppressing change in color and change in quality of empenthrin, safely usable in a room, comprising empenthrin and a specific thiocyano-based compound in a prescribed ratio. CONSTITUTION:This insecticide composition for clothing is obtained by blending empenthrin of formula I with a thiocyano-based compound of formula II (R is an alkyl, an alkoxy, isobornyloxy, an alkoxyalkyl or a thiocyanoalkyl; m is 0 or 1; n is 0-2; X is 0 or methylene) in an amount of >=0.5 that of the empenthrin of formula I. For example, 2-butoxy-2'-thiocyanodiethyl ether of formula III, lauric acid 2-thiocyanoethyl ester of formula IV, ethyl thiocyanoacetate of formula V may be cited as the compound of formula II. The composition has high insecticidal and insect preventing effects and excellent chemical stability (especially apt to be hardly affected by metals). The insecticide composition is applicable not only to cabinets and drawers but also to machine facilities, etc. |
