CONSTITUTION:This vehicle collision preventive device is composed by providing a distance measuring means M1 to measure the relative distance between the own car and an object at the front side, an automatic collision avoiding means M2 to control automatically or to steer automatically the own car, a collision avoiding operation detecting means M3 to detect the collision avoiding operation of a driver, and collision avoiding adequacy deciding means M4 to decide whether the collision can be avoided only by the collision avoiding operation of the driver or not depending on the measuring result of the measuring means M1 and the detecting result of the collision avoiding operation operating means M3. In this case, only when it is decided that the operating speed or the operating amount of the collision avoiding operation is at a specific amount or more, and the collision cannot be avoided only by the collision avoiding operation, the automatic collision avoiding means M2 is operated.
