PRINTING INK COMPOSITION AND PRINTING METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE:To obtain the composition which, when applied on a substrate and coated with an actinic-ray-curable coating composition, gives a glossy film by incorporating a specific compound into a (semi)drying oil, a synthetic drying oil, or a modification thereof. CONSTITUTION:The composition comprises preferably 5-99wt.% (semi)drying or synthetic drying oil or modification thereof (e.g. linseed oil or a rosin- modified phenolic resin) and preferably 1-30wt.% compound selected from a (meth)acrylic ester represented by the formula CH2=CR1COOR2 (wherein R1 is H or CH3 and R2 is a 4-16C hydrocarbon group), a vinyl or isopropenyl ester represented by the formula CH2-=CR1OCOR3 (wherein R3 is the same as R2), and a vinyl or isopropenyl ether represented by the formula CH2=CR1OR4 (wherein R4 is a 4-18C hydrocarbon group). Preferably it further contains a metal drier and/or a photopolymerization initiator and/or a colorant.
