<p>Liquid divided in a gas flow such as in pipelines in the form of droplets, is removed by leading the gas through a fibre mat in the direction in which the mat extends and causing the liquid to collect in the fabric, from which it is removed by gravity, at a straight angle to the flow of the gas. Since the gas flow slows down the droplets, they do no get carried away by the gas and the device is more efficient with gas flows of varying speeds than conventional separators, through which the flow passes at a square angle to the filter surface.</p> |
