SCRIBING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To provide a scribing apparatus capable of forming a deep cut groove by combinedly using flexural moment even if a shape of a cut groove formed on a brittle plate is a curve. CONSTITUTION:This scribing apparatus forming a cut groove on the upper face of a brittle plate B is provided with a brittle plate-placing face 4a and a scribing chip 4a moving while pressing to the upper face of the brittle plate B along a line to be scribed on the upper face of the brittle plate B-placing face 4a put on this brittle plate B and the brittle plate placing face 4a is formed of a linear placing member 5 arranged along a line to be scribed and having high hardness and an elastic member 6 deformable downward when pressed from above. Press rollers 17 moving while pressing the upper face of the brittle plate B in interlock with the scribe chip 14 and generating flexural moment using a contact face with the linear placing member 5 as a supporting point to the brittle plate B are arranged on both sides of the scribing chip 14.
