PURPOSE:To provide a surface grinding device, by which an optional desired surface of H-steels can be ground efficiently by means of a simple structure, for the II steels. CONSTITUTION:A surface grinding device for H-steel is provided with a hollow square frame l, a material feeding means, which penetratingly conveys a material to be machined in the inside of the hollow square frame 1, a length measuring means, which measures the feeding distance of the material, a pair of horizontal surface grinding heads freely movable in the lateral direction along horizontal beam parts 15, 16 arranged above and below the hollow square frame 1, upper and lower pairs of vertical surface grinding heads 5a, 5b, and 5c, 5d, and a grinding head driving mechanism, which displaces respective grinding heads laterally or vertically on the basis of a control signal. The device is also provided with a storage means storing the dimensional data of H steels and the data for the position to be machined, both of which are previously inputted, and a controlling means controlling the material feeding means and the grinding head driving mechanism on the basis of the contents stored in the storage means and the output of the length measuring means. |
