PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer dye donating material imparting a high density image, improved in color reproducibility and enhanced in fastness against light, heat, the atmosphere, humidity and chemicals by providing a dye donating layer containing a specific pyrazolopyrimidin-7-one azo dye on a support. CONSTITUTION:A dye donating layer containing a pyrazolopyrimidin-7-one azo dye represented by formula I [wherein R1, R2 and R3 are a hydrogen atom, a carboxylic acid group, an aryl group (an aryl group containing a substituent, pref., 6-30C phenyl, m-acetylaminophenyl or p-methoxyphenyl) or an alkyl group (containing an alkyl group having a substituent and pref. an aryl group substitued with an electron withdrawing group and more pref. an aryl group having an electron withdrawing group with a Hammett's substituent constant value sigmap of 0.3 or more substituted at the p-position of its azo group] is provided on a support. |
