摘要 The method determines the angular offset between axial asymmetries, in particular between optically inhomogeneous regions in optically transparent bodies, such as stress concentration zones (7) of optical PM fibres or fibre cores (3) of optical twin core fibres (1), located in arbitrary angular start positions. The method includes illuminating the end of the fibres during their rotations to different angular positions around their longitudinal axes. For different angular positions the difference (h) is then determined between light, which has passed through the fibre end and in its position corresponds to the central part of the fibre, and light, which has passed through the fibre end and in its position corresponds to the region of the fibre located immediately outside the central part. These differences (h), considered as junctions of the rotation angle, constitute curves for the fibre ends. The curves are compared and are translated in a parallel way to a new angular position, where a max. agreement is obtained in the shape of the curves. The angle between the curves in this angular position gives the angular offset between e.g. the plane (8,8") through the stress zones (7) or the fibre cores (3) in their start positions and this angle is used for rotating the fibre ends, so that these planes and thus the stress zones or the fibre cores in the fibre ends will be aligned with each other.
