<p>PURPOSE:To provide a heat insulating device of an exhaust muffler which can effectively protect parts arranged in the vicinity of the exhaust muffler from radiation heat of the exhaust muffler, can be easily installed on the exhaust muffler, and has high durability at low cost. CONSTITUTION:A connect pipe which is a heat generation part of an exhaust muffler is coated with a heat shield pipe 29 which is prepared by charging a heat insulating material 28 such as glass fiber or asbestos between an outer pipe 26 and an inner pipe 27, both pipes being made of bendable bellows-like metal foil. A gap 31 is formed between the inner pipe 27 and the connect pipe 20. The gap 31 is opened to atmosphere at front and rear ends of the heat shield pipe 29. The outer pipe is made of aluminum foil, while the inner pipe 27 is made of stainless steel foil.</p> |
