PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for producing filter-tipped cigarettes supplying the two parallel continuous bodies of filter-tipped cigarettes oriented facing and inverting the first continuous body of the two continuous bodies to orienting equally to the of the second continuous body of the two continuous bodies. CONSTITUTION: On a filter assembling device 2, the first/second continuous bodies 21 and 22 of cigarettes are fed to an inversion unit 24 capable of providing two different working positions in order to rotate one of the cigarettes of the first/second continuous bodies 11b, 11a by 180 deg. and the inverted cigarette forms the two continuous bodies 21 and 22 of equally oriented cigarette by inserting an interval in a crossing direction by being carried onto an opposite side with the cigarette of the other continuous body.
