[Also in Division D1] Thread 29 is wound on a moving mandrel 1 and unites to form a tube, it being impregnated with a hardenable resin by passing through a bath of liquid retained in annulus 24 by centrifugal force (see Division D1]. The mandrel may move axially to distribute the threads and thus to form long tubes. It may also rotate to control the relative speed of tube formation. Several threads (preferably of glass fibre) can be deposited simultaneously. |
