A surgically implantable medicament pellet container comprises a side wall (12), foraminous to and bottom surfaces 20 (22) and an eye 26 integral with the side wall by means of which the container may be withdrawn from tissue. The side wall is made in two halves separable horizontally or vertically for insertion of the pellet 24. The top and bottom surfaces comprise a wet-like arrangement of interconnected strips 28. The pellet has frustospherical elevations (37) in its top and bottom faces which in use project beyond the side wall of the container and against which the top and bottom surfaces resiliently bear. The pellet comprises an inactive central layer (35) and top and bottom layers (31, 33) containing the active agent 3-ethylene dioxy 17-acetoxy, 6-methyl pregn-5-ene-20-one. Each layer comprises a mixture of cholesterol, Carbo wax and magnesium stearate. |
