PURPOSE:To improve wiping ability and to reduce cost by suspending flexible strings having noncircular sections in front of a traffic sign so as to be swayed by wind pressure so that the sign is always kept clean. CONSTITUTION:A flexible string-like wiper 1A comprised of synthetic rubber or the like has a noncircular section. Therefore, the wiper 1A is susceptible to wind pressure and is easily swayed by a small wind pressure, while the wiper has a large contact area and hence wiping ability is greatly improved. A wiper 1B shows a marking identical with a marking 22 of a sign 21 which is covered with the wiper 1B, so that the making 22 of the sign 21 is prevented from being overlooked. In the case of a column-shaped traffic sign such as a cone, a plurality of wipers 1A or 1B are disposed around the outer periphery of a ring-shaped body, which body is attached to the upper end of the traffic sign by means of an engaging device to suspend the wiper 1A, 1B around the outer periphery of the traffic sign. As a result, wiping ability can be improved and a feeling of disorder can be avoided, and the wiper is of simple construction so that it can be easily mounted. |
