Channel-sectioned metal floor shutters have hooked longitudinal edges 6 which sit on the lower flanges of I-beams 1 which are cast into the floor, devices 13 being provided to draw the hooked edges together for the ultimate removal of the shutters. The shutters each have stiffening ribs 8 on the underside of their flat upper surfaces 3, and the devices may include a cranked lever 14 and tie-rods 12 with hooks 11 on the outer ends. |
