1,261,035. Battery terminal. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 26 June, 1969 [16 July, 1968], No. 33785/68. Heading H1B. A terminal post of a lead-acid battery is formed by securing a lead sleeve 12 to the battery lid 11 of for example synthetic resin material, securing the lid to the battery box so that a lead spigot 14, electrically connected to one set of plates in one of the cells, extends into the sleeve, placing a mould 15 around the sleeve and heating to fuse the sleeve and at least the upper end of the spigot, by for example a gas blow torch or a heated rod, and to melt the remainder of the sleeve which is shaped by the mould to form the terminal. |
