The proposed hand-held unit (1) comprises a housing (2), an optical Fiber (3) intended especially for use in medical treatments using laser light and mounted in the housing (2), and a flushing device (4) which directs liquid at the region of the laser's operating point. With this device it is proposed that the flushing device (4) should produce a directional liquid stream (6) and that the laser beam (8) should be coupled into the said liquid stream (6). |
