A clamping device comprises an L-shaped bracket (10) having a corner edge (12) and first and second legs (14, 16) extending away from the corner edge towards free ends of the bracket. Each of the first and second legs terminate in a pair of first and second spaced apart clamping projections (18, 20, 22, 24) bearing tangs (34). The tangs (34) on the first pair of clamping projections (18, 22) extend inwardly towards one another and are arranged to locate within corresponding first slots (76.1, 76.2) formed in adjacent faces of a first corner formation defined by a first pair of perpendicular panels (68.1, 68.2). The tangs (34) on the second pair of clamping projections (20, 24) extend inwardly towards one another and are arranged to locate within corresponding second slots (76.3, 76.4) formed in adjacent faces of a second corner formation formed by a second pair of panels (64.1, 64.2). The bracket holds the first and second corner formations in adjoining stacked relationship with one another. The invention extends to a reusable and collapsible container assembly (54) comprising at least two containers (58, 60) held in an aligned stacked configuration by means of the clamping devices.
