<p>Anti-theft device suitable for all vehicles currently on the market. The invention concerns an anti-theft device for motor vehicles for rigidly associating the steering wheel with the steering column (2) or, when the vehicle is to be protected, for disconnecting in rotation the steering wheel from the steering column. The steering column comprises a pin (3) parallel to the steering column axis (4), but eccentric to said axis (4), associating a steering wheel flange (5) with a flange (6) of the steering column (2), both flanges being capable of pivoting in relation to one another about said pin (3) while being held fixed to one another by said pin (3). The invention is characterized by comprising a combination of at least one removable member (7) for cooperating with both flanges (5, 6) in order to associate them rigidly and rotatably with one another, by preventing them from pivoting about said pin (3). As soon as the removable member is detached, the flanges (5, 6) are able to pivot about said pin, the steering wheel no longer being integral in rotation with the steering column (2), but remaining fitted to the latter. The anti-theft device of the invention is for use in the motor vehicle and related industries.</p> |
