Hollow bodies as filling material for packaging

The padding material, esp. as a filler for packaging, is of paper to give a closed or pliable wall round a hollow zone filled with air or gas. Also claimed is a mfg. process where trough recesses (10) are formed in a web or strip (8) of paper. The open troughs (10) are covered by matching troughs (10) of a second web or strip (8) to give enclosed hollow zones.
