Mfg. a double carpet fabric in a two-pick weave on a double shed loom. The pile yarn (3M-7M) is sepd. from the shed forming drive of the dead piles and held in the outer shed in the turn before the pile yarn change. In the subsequent turn, the yarn (3M-7M) is bound above the outer pick together with the pile yarn forming the pattern previously and coupled at the same time to the shed forming drive for the pattern pile. The pile yarn (3M-7M) is held in the outer shed after a simultaneous binding on the back with the new pile yarn. In the subsequent turn, it is coupled to the shed forming drive of the dead piles. Pref. the base material (10) contg. no dead piles is supplied with a filling warp (15) which consists of at least one filling warp yarn. The filling warp thickness corresponds to 50% of the sum of the dead piles of the other base material (20). The yarn tension of the filling warp (15) is adapted to that of the dead piles.
