PURPOSE:To ensure that an excellent anti-blurring property, sharp patterns and color patterns with excellent uniformity can be obtained, by incorporating a crosslinking agent for a polyester or polyamide component into an ink or a material to be recorded, and effecting crosslinking on the material to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:In this ink jet printing method, an ink comprising a pigment and a water-soluble or water-dispersible polyester or polyamide component is used, a crosslinking agent for the polyester or polyamide component is incorporated in the ink or in a material to be recorded, and crosslinking is effected on the material to be recorded. The water-soluble or water-dispersible polyester or polyamide is anionic, and the material to be recorded is pretreated with a metallic salt and/or a cationic compound. Generally, an acrylic polymer or a synthetic rubber latex is mainly used as a binder for pigment printing. In this method, a water-soluble or water-dispersible polyester ordinarily used as a hardener for obtaining a desired feeling is used, and is crosslinked by the crosslinking agent to provide a film having a high durability, thereby obtaining a printed article with excellent color fastness. |
