A method of imaging comprising the following steps: (a) assembling a donor sheet having a donor layer comprising a thermally transferable colourant, and a receptor sheet so that the donor layer of the donor sheet is in intimate contact with the receptor sheet, one of the donor and receptor sheets comprising a radiation-absorbing material; (b) contacting the donor-receptor assembly with a photographic mask, and (c) exposing the donor-receptor assembly through the photographic mask by means of a scanning exposure source so that in areas defined by the transparent regions of the mask, the exposing radiation is absorbed and converted to thermal energy by the radiation-absorbing material to effect the thermal transfer of colourant from the donor sheet to the receptor sheet. <IMAGE> |
