The device transports objects, particularly thin, fragile or sensitive objects such as large surface area pcbs (16) through different processing or treatment units. The device includes a conveyor system with two narrow, endless conveyor belts (19) at the side edge regions. The conveyor belts (19) have suction apertures (21) which cause a suction effect via a suction chamber (23). This suction presses the flat objects to the surface of the conveyor system. By lightly spreading the belts (19) in the transport direction, a transverse tension effect can be achieved.
