Electrically assisted steering system for motor car

The electrically assisted steering system has a device to evaluate the steering torque and to give a corresponding electrical signal. A second device gives a signal corresponding to the direction of the torque, when this value lies outside the dead zone (near the steering neutral point). If the two signals are coincident, determined by a third device, then a signal is sent to an electric motor to give a supporting torque to the steering column. The second device can give a signal in a certain direction even in the dead zone if a switching signal is received from the first device.
