POLYESTER FIBER FOR REINFORCING RUBBER AND TIRE CORD OF IT

The polyester fiber having a good elasticity and creep properties consists of polyethylene terephthalate more than 90 mole %. An intrinsic viscosity and a strength are >0.8, >6.0 g/d, respectively. Thus, the polyethylene terephthalate polymer having an intrinsic viscosity of 1.1 was spun at 300 deg. C in the speed of 35,000 m/min through a spinnerlet having 250 orifice of 0.6 mm diameter. The obtained fiber was cooled and drawn through a heated godet roller to give the polyester.
