The support (1) for a handling basket has a chassis (2) which has a carrier for the basket. The carrier is constituted by guide elements in which slide stowing elements consisting of two independent half cradles (5). These stowing elements can, conjointly with the cradles be spaced laterally on either side the plane of symmetry of the support. Each half cradle has a guide and a lateral holder (7) for the basket. The guides are carried by a pivoting frame rotating about a horizontal axle, carried by the chassis, with the insertion of stands (9), pivoted about a horizontal axle carried by the pivoting frame, supported on the chassis (2) when the pivoting frame is inclined to the chassis.
