Appts. for coating a yarn with paraffin

The appts. at a textile machine, to apply a paraffin coating to a yarn, has a shrouding (4) at the appts. (1) for the paraffin body (2), to contain any free paraffin particles. Pref. the shrouding (4) has at least two surfaces (410-412) to cover at least two sides of the paraffin body (2), with the surfaces at right angles to each other. One surface (410-412) is on a plane parallel to the plane of the reciprocating movement of the yarn (3) at the paraffin body (2). One surface (410) is horizontally below the paraffin body (2), to cover its under surface, and one surface (412) is parallel to the plane of the yarn travel, linked to two surfaces (411) which are vertical to cover the sides of the paraffin body (2). The shrouding (4) has an opening (43) as a passage for the yarn (3), in front of the paraffin body (2) in the direction of travel. A threading opening (44) is at the shrouding (4) to insert the yarn (3) to pass back into contact with the body (2), with a cover (45) for the opening (44). A yarn catch (30) is near the insertion opening (44) which also acts as the cover (45).
