Water-in-oil antiperspirant compositions which are transparent or substantially transparent, leave no white residue, and have a non-tacky feel comprise a long-chain hydro-carbon-modified polydiorganosiloxane polyoxy-alkylene copolymer containing polydimethylsiloxy groups, a volatile liquid of b.pt. less than 250 DEG C, a solubilising agent, water, an astringent salt and sufficient refraction index adjuster to render the refraction index of the two phases substantially equal. Suitable R.I. adjusters are propylene glycol and sorbitol.
