PURPOSE:To let a user easily specify and retrieve a mail by attaching a routine or nonroutine memo on the mail as information to specify an electronic mail. CONSTITUTION:When the user selects a memo desired to attach from a typical memo summary list 15f by designating the mail on which the memo is attached and designating a mail number, it is stored in a part in accordance with the mail number of a routine memo storage device 15b, and is displayed on a mail summary device 14. When the nonroutine memo is attached, an arbitrary character string is stored in a nonroutine memo storage device 15c by using a nonroutine memo editing device 15e, and the mail number is designated. Data in the nonroutine memo storage device 15c is taken out by a request of mail summary display, and it is displayed on the mail summary device 14. Therefore, the content of the mail can be estimated by attaching the routine or nonroutine memo when the mail without displaying a theme is handled or no appropriate memo displaying the content is attached. |
