PURPOSE:To measure the distance between a distance measurement station and a mobile station by analyzing a multiplexed measurement signal returned from the mobile station by plural distance measurement stations. CONSTITUTION:Plural distance measurement stations 2a, 2b send respective measurement signals F1, F2 to a mobile station 3x. The mobile station 3x uses receivers 11xa, 11xb to receive the signals and uses a multiplexing computing element 12x to multiplex the signals. Then the mobile station 3x returns the multiplexed position signal F0 to each of the distance measurement stations 2a, 2b as a common position signal. Each of the distance measurement signals 2a, 2b use respective receivers 8a, 8b to receive the position signal F0 and output the signal to respective distance counters 9a, 9b. The distance counters 9a, 9b recognize a distance measurement code of the stations 2a, 2b from the received position signal F0 by the correlation method and calculates the time difference to measure the distance up to the mobile station 3x. Since the position signal is multiplexed, the operating radio wave band is small and the radio wave is efficiently utilized.
