STILL PICTURE GENERATING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To display the name of a reserved person overlappingly onto a program title part by superimposing information stored in an additional picture storage means onto information stored in a still picture means and providing an output as one-pattern still picture information. CONSTITUTION:A chapter code detection and controller 8 detects a chapter of a reserved program based on a chapter code signal 1B received from a video signal processing circuit 1. A memory controller 4 writes a video signal 3A of a chapter program title part to be detected to a RAM 5 according to a still picture output picture time signal S2 from the system controller. Furthermore, a field memory 14 stores additional picture information 10A received by an image scanner 9. Then the controller 17 reads information 10A from the memory 14 and inputs the information to the controller 4. The controller 4 superimposes the information 10A stored in the memory 14 on the video signal 3A stored in the RAM 5 as still picture information and provides the output of the superimposed signal.
