PURPOSE:To prevent internal short circuit due to a winding slip without decreas ing collecting efficiency of a positive electrode by installing a lead having the length equivalent to the specific % of respective end part dimension onto the positive electrode and a negative electrode excepting the vicinity of their both end parts. CONSTITUTION:A lead 3b with a tab 3a is installed in the end part 2 on one side of a collector of a nickel positive electrode 1 along its longitudinal direction. The positive electrode 1 is spirally wound setting a separator 5 between a hydrogen storage alloy negative electrode 4 and it own and is stored with an alkaline electrolyte in a bottomed cylindrical container 6. The length of the lead 3b is equivalent to 5-20% of the end part, 2 dimension and is installed in the end part 2 excepting the vicinity of its both end parts. If the length is less than the 5% equivalent, collecting efficiency of the positive electrode 1 deteriorates and installing strength to the collector is reduced. If the length exceeds the 20% equivalent, a winding slip in the positive electrode 1 is caused during production of the group of electrodes, and as a result, internal short circuit is caused. |
