PURPOSE:To suppress loss of efficiency in a cooling operation by preventing generation of freezing in an indoor heat exchanger at the time of cooling operation by means of a control device for an air conditioner provided with an electronic expansion valve. CONSTITUTION:A method comprises detecting an indoor heat exchanging temperature (a temperature of an indoor heat exchanger) by means of an indoor heat exchanging temperature detecting unit 1 at the time of cooling operation, storing the detected temperature in a storage unit 2, calculating a rate DELTATn of time change on the basis of an indoor heat exchanging temperature presently detected and the temperature stored in the storage unit 2 to serve as an input 1 to a control unit 6, comparing a difference Ts between the indoor heat exchanging temperature Tn presently detected and a set value Tc in a comparison unit 5 to make the resulting temperature difference Ts serve as an input 2 to the control unit 6, and inputting the inputs 1, 2 into the control unit 6. The control unit 6 performs fuzzy operation of an opening degree of an electronic expansion valve in accordance with predetermined rule of control and a relationship of membership on the basis of a rate DELTATn of time change of an input and the temperature difference Ts, in which operation a control value for controlling the expansion valve to throttle the same is calculated in the case where an indoor heat exchanging temperature rapidly falls short of a temperature of an indoor heat exchanger.
