PURPOSE:To obtain a reformer capable of efficiently reforming a fuel by the catalysis of a conversion catalyst in an optimum temp. range and capable of preventing the heat deterioration of the catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A vaporization part 2 and a first conversion part 3 are thermally combined to constitute a vaporization-conversion combination part 5. By such a constitution, the vaporization part 2 is efficiently heated by the heat generated from the first conversion part 3. Consequently, the fuel for a combustion part 1 is saved. Further, since the conversion reaction temp. in the first conversion part 3 is 150-200 deg.C and the vaporization reaction temp. in the vaporization part 2 is 90-150 deg.C, the reaction heat is exchanged between both parts when both reactions proceed at the same time, and the equibrium temp. is kept at 150-200 deg.C. These temps. are optimum for both reactions, Namely, the two reactions proceed under an efficient heat balance. Consequently, conversion is efficiently conducted, and the heat deterioration of the catalyst is prevented. |
