PURPOSE:To prevent multiple types of ink from being mixed and to downsize a discharge recovery device of an ink jet recorder capable of multi-ink recording. CONSTITUTION:Multiple blade-integrated caps 51 are provided at the end of a device as a home position of a recording head so that they may be positioned face-to-face against a surface on which ink discharge ports are formed and are connected by a connecting frame 700. The connecting frame 700 can be moved in a direction to which a carrier travels. A pump 53 is provided in the rear side of the connecting frame 700. After the recording head requiring discharge recovery is faced to the corresponding cap at a predetermined position, the pump 53 is connected to the cap and applies a suction force to the inside of the cap for recovery of discharge. |
