PURPOSE:To read out with the reading consistent with a context by the once learnt reading even when a word with plural reading appears in a document while reading out. CONSTITUTION:An analysis part 9 sets the reading with the highest priority analysis part 9 sets the reading with the highest priority in the word information of a dictionary 5 as the reading of the word when no word information of the word with plural reading appearing in the analyzed sentence exists in a hold part 6, and stores the word information in the hold part 6. The speech data formed from a sentence analysis result by a generation part 11 is read out as the sentence through a synthesizer 12 and a generator 13. When the word with plural reading is detected by a word detection part 15 while reading out, a control part 8 reads out the word information of the word from the hold part 6, and displays it on a position on a display device 3 detected by a position detection part 16. When the reading of the word is specified by the outside based on the displayed word information, the word information in the hold part 6 is revised by the control part 8 so that the specified reading becomes of the highest priority.
