PURPOSE:To make monitoring and maintenance efficient by realizing an indicator at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A part of a display pannel 10 is used as the indicator 12. Thus, positions corresponding to indicators of a VRAM 11 storing the display data are rewritten by the indicator data. When the display data are scroll-displayed, the restoration of the display data before a point of time on the VRAM, the preservation of the data of the positions corresponding to the indicators at the point of time and the rewrite by the indicator data are performed using a work memory so that display positions of the indicators are not changed by the scroll. Thus, since the hardware dedicated for indicator is unnecessitated, the cost of the device is reduced, and further, since the display pannel 10 is always monitored, the indicator 12 is easily monitored.
