In a two-way plough a plough carrier 22 is pivotable with a sleeve 21 about a tubular member 16 and there is a lostmotion arrangement and a latch means to prevent the carrier when being moved from a first ploughing position to a second ploughing position from being bounced backwards when an overcentre position is reached and before movement in the opposite direction is effected. The lostmotion is obtained by having a ram 33 pivoted by a pin 34, in an opening 40 which is in a standard 35 and which is larger than the pin. When the ram swings the plough carrier and a transverse bar 23 upwardly, the ram is fully retracted at approximately 12 degrees before a dead centre position is reached. The lost-motion arrangements allows the momentum generated to throw the assembly over the dead centre position and approximately 12 degrees beyond, Fig. 3 (not shown). The latch mechanism comprises a dog 47 freely pivoted on the bar 23 and a latch part 44. As the assembly moves over the centre position the dog 47 abuts an inclined side 45 and prevents rotation backwards. The outer end of a piston rod 37 is connected to a lug 39 on an angle bar 30 which is between two plates 28 on the bar 23. The angle bar 30 fits in a groove in a plate 32 and the lower plate 28 rests on an adjustable pin (29), Fig. 3 (not shown). (For Figures see next page.) |
