PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricant, capable of regulating the oil resistance, excellent in stability and useful as a grease, etc., by dispersing, etc., a polyalkylene glycol (derivative) in a base oil for the lubricant, adding metallic alkoxides to the resultant dispersion or solution, thermally reacting both and then evaporating and removing light fractions. CONSTITUTION:This lubricant containing a compound expressed by the formula {R<1> is H or a 1-6C alkyl; R<2> is an alkylene oxide polymer, expressed by the formula (R<3>-O-R<4>-O)n [R<3> and R<4> are each a 2-4C alkylene; (n) is 2-70] and having 200-5000 average molecular weight; M is Al, Ti, Mg or Zr; X is a 1-6C alkoxy, hydroxyl group or O; (a) is 1-4; (b) is 0-3} is obtained by dispersing or dissolving a polyalkylene glycol (derivative) in a base oil for the lubricant, adding metallic alkoxides such as aluminum methoxide to the resultant dispersion or solution, thermally reacting both and then evaporating and removing light fractions. |
