PREPARATION OF NONPHENO QUINOLIC COMPOUND AS BYPRODUCT IN PREPARING PHENOLIC ANTIOXIDENT

The method for increasing purity of antioxidant of phenols (I) consists of (1) dissolving the (I) in glacial acetate 0.02% containing ethanol, (2) reducing biphenoqunones as byproducts with sodium sulfur or sodium hydrogen sulfur at 75'C for 30 min to form precipitate, (3) filtering. The purity of (I) is increased to 99%. (I) is tetrakis-propionyl oxymethyl methane or tetrakis- propionate.
