PURPOSE:To provide a printer controller in which a memory capacity is reduced, the system is realized at a low cost, data after separation are synthesized at a high speed with optimum processing. CONSTITUTION:In the printer controller receiving a PDL command from a host and expanding data into character, graphics and image data, the character and graphic data among the expanded data by the PDL command are expanded and stored in a bit map memory 108 and color or gradation information corresponding to the data is compressed in the unit of blocks and stored in a gradation memory 109 and color or gradation painting out is conducted by the data from the gradation memory 109 at the time of synthesis. Furthermore, the character and graphic data among the expansion data by the PDL command are expanded and stored in a buffer memory (RAM 102) by one character size or one graphic size and the color or gradation information corresponding to the character and graphics by one page is compressed in the unit of blocks and stored in the gradation memory 109 and painting out of color or gradation is conducted based on the data from the gradation memory 109 at the time of synthesis. |
